Dr. Ivy Donaldson is a psychologist currently working at St. Anthony North Family Medicine Residency Program as Interim Director of Behavioral Health. She is originally from Los Angeles, CA, and moved to Denver in 2009 to complete her doctoral training in counseling psychology. Ivy comes from a large family of 5 siblings and is the first in her family to attend college and earn a graduate degree. She is a proud mother of a 15 year old son who attends Denver South High School.
Ivy has worked in a variety of training institutions and organizations including adult inpatient psychiatric units and youth homeless shelters; she has worked as a health coach and a psychotherapist at local community mental health organization. She has specialized training in conducting psychological testing and in working with trauma patients. She specializes in providing integrated care in medical settings because she believes that the mind and body are intrinsically connected, and that you cannot take care of a whole person without addressing both the mind and the body.
Ivy is passionate about Project HairCare because she has a strong personal connection and moral principle for working with underserved populations and for social justice. Project HairCare incorporates Ivy’s passions for being a fierce advocate for equity and diversity and inclusion and increasing culturally competent mental health care for persons of color and for under-resourced communities.
In her free time Ivy enjoys spending time with her fiance and son, going to her son’s high school football games, and hiking with her dogs.
