My name is Mykhal Goodloe. I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado and raised by my grandparents Inez and Herman Lornes in the Park Hill neighborhood. I attended Wheat Ridge High School and later received my barbering license from Emily Griffith Technical College. I am a proud father, grandfather, and husband. As a barber and owner of Hollywood’s Barbershop, located on East Colfax for over 25 years, I have had the opportunity and pleasure to be able to service a variety of individuals from all different walks of life.
I take honor in supporting my community and giving back to it. I’m very passionate to be part of this Mental Health project especially for the African American community which is greatly underserved. When my clients sit in my chair, they know I am there for them. Whether just to be a listening ear or to give advice, my clients know when they sit in my chair I am more than just their barber. I want to be a resource for those that may need to seek mental health treatment not only for themselves but for a loved one. I want people to know they will not be deterred from asking for assistance.
